Jan Ullrich Cycling Comeback?

Just spotted this, frankly, intriguing message on Facebook proporting to be from the great Jan Ullrich:

Lance, ich komme!

I’m not even sure if this Facebook account belongs to the man himself or not. The email address associated with this page is from the Jan Ullrich website but I’m not even sure that this lends any credence to the account.

Credible or not, what can it mean? Literally translated, of course, it means ‘Lance, I’m coming’. But to what? R.S.V.P. To a party chez Armstrong? Who knows?

As you can probably tell, I’ve got my skeptical hat on for this one. I haven’t heard any rumours about a comeback to professional cycling and he looked very happy and content when we saw him at Eurobike last year promoting Ghost bicycles.

Very odd, indeed.

  • I would love to see Jan's comeback - just to see what size he is at the start of the season. When he was a real contender he started some seasons in a right old lardy-arsed state - who knows what size he'd be after a few years away from the sport.

    If it came down to a comeback head-to-head, although it pains me to say it, my money would be on Lance. However, I am just as sceptical - can't see it happening.
  • The picture in the post is one I took of Jan, at Eurobike back in September, and he looked in great shape.

    I'd love to see him cycling again but, like yourself, I can't see it happening.
