VeloCast On Google Wave
John and I have mentioned Google Wave on a couple of occasions now during the show. It’s still an ‘invite only’ service, and is still a “preview” of what the finished product will be.
We’ve actually found it invaluable for organising the topics each of us find for inclusion on the podcast. After creating a pool of topics (topic headings or links to articles online) we can colloborate – often in real-time – on building a running order.
These ‘Waves’ are useful for John and I, though. However, a while back John set up a Public Wave so that anyone who has access to Wave could post ideas for topics that they would like to see discussed. It’s proven to be not only popular but immensely useful too as several topics from recent shows have come directly from there.
However, a tweet from Steven Robinson let me know that Google wasn’t making it easy to find it (anyone spot the irony in that?).
So, I thought it might be useful to write a little “how to” for anyone wanting to post topics to any of our public Waves. In the Google Wave search box type:
with:public “Velocast”
It’s not very intuative, is it?! Hopefully Google will improve this in due course.
Finally, if you don’t have a Wave invite I think we have a few left. Drop us an email if you want to try it out.
Sorry for the geeky, non-cycling related post. (Ab)normal service will be resumed momentarily.
